Player Setup (Client)

The Player is responsible for displaying the content provided by the Studio. Obscreen now ships native player apps for most platforms, while still supporting any device with a modern web browser.

Native apps

Recommended whenever a dedicated app is available for your device. Native apps include kiosk mode, auto-start, offline playback and remote pairing.

• Android: phones, tablets, generic Android boxes (Google Play Store)
• Android TV: Nvidia Shield, Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV (Google Play Store)
• Amazon Fire TV: Fire TV Stick & Fire TV (Amazon Appstore)
• Linux: AppImage, .deb, .rpm (x86_64 & aarch64)
• macOS: native Apple Silicon & Intel app (Mac App Store)
• Windows: Windows 10 / 11, x86_64 & ARM64 (Microsoft Store)
• LG webOS: native app on LG commercial signage panels

DIY player

• Raspberry Pi: additive install or dedicated Obscreen OS image

Web browser

• Browser: Chromium / Firefox on any device
• Generic Smart TV: fallback for Smart TVs without a dedicated app
